Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast, a shopaholic, a food connoisseur, or a beach bum, Jacksonville Beach leaves nothing to be desired. From its uncrowded beaches to its quirky shops and local restaurants offering delicious cuisine, this neighborhood has something for everyone to enjoy. Arguably, a perfect day would consist of taking a morning walk (or bike ride) on the beach, and then soaking up some rays for a few hours afterward. Once you have had your fill of the sun, pack up your bags and hit up a nearby restaurant. After you’ve quenched your taste buds, you can enjoy moseying through the unique shops, and even pick up something special for yourself.
Now that you’ve had the perfect day of good food, light exercise, and relaxation, the night life is fast approaching. One thing we love about Jax Beach is that as much as it offers in the daytime, the night life is equally competitive. Many restaurants stay open late and transition to bars, and as we all know, the beach is the perfect place for a nighttime stroll. Jax Beach is stacked with pubs, breweries, and bars as well. These are all conveniently located close together to make your night out easily navigable. Here are some of our favorite places to visit:
Lynch’s Irish Pub– This is our featured pub for many reasons. One of the oldest, most renowned pubs in Jacksonville Beach, Lynch’s is a great place to kick back and enjoy the drinks, atmosphere, and food. Their food menu is substantial, and their plates do not disappoint. If you order the fish and chips, be sure to bring an appetite because they do not skimp on the serving sizes. Lynch’s is a very active pub, hosting a plethora of activities such as trivia night, and tons of live music. The interior is exactly what one would picture with an Irish pub. Gorgeous dark wood throughout, with a unique rounded bar, and stained glass light fixtures. They have 50 beers on tap, and plenty of other drink options. Our favorite thing about Lynch’s is their dedication to the community. Not only do they serve the community in providing an enjoyable place to hang out, but they also give back in other ways. Recently, they had to remove all the $1 bills that had been placed throughout the establishment by customers, due to a fire hazard. Some of these bills had been on the walls since the pub opened back in 1994. Off duty firefighters assisted in the removal of all the bills, and Lynch’s donated over $12,000.00 to the Jacksonville Association of Firefighters Charities. The money will help the Muscular Dystrophy Association and local firefighters needing financial help.
Engine 15 Brewing Co.- Deemed “best brewery in Jacksonville” by many locals, Engine 15 provides a chill atmosphere, and is fully staffed with tentative employees. They have 50 tap lines, and a vast majority of them pour Engine 15 creations, along with a constantly changing selection of guest beers from around the world. Their food menu is just as mouth watering as their tap, boasting selections such as the B-B Cuban, Beer Brats, and Gyros. Engine 15 hosts plenty of events as well. Stop by on Jan 25th for Pint Night-IPA Night With Microman, and enjoy all that this establishment has to offer!
Sneakers Sports Grille– Since opening its doors in 2001, Sneakers has been a favorite go-to for sports fans throughout the Jacksonville Beach area. The inside of this large grille is a sports fan’s dream. They boast six full-story screens, and multiple plasma screens throughout the building. Sports memorabilia is proudly displayed, and the outdoor patio area has televisions AND an ocean view. Due to its size, even during the busy hours, seating is usually easy to find. Not only is this the perfect place to watch games, but it also has trivia, and even an arcade. MSN.com city search also named Sneakers Sports Grille the best sports bar in Jacksonville and one of the top ten sports bars in the country. Stop by and see for yourself!
Monkey’s Uncle Tavern– This place has recently undergone a major facelift due to relocating, and it’s getting rave reviews from locals. Monkey’s Uncle Tavern has been around since 1985 and with trivia, live music, and award winning karaoke, this is a Jax Beach favorite. They have added new food menu items which go above and beyond average “bar food”, as well as an updated frozen drink menu. Monkey’s Uncle’s interior update boasts a modern beachy vibe, making it the perfect place to kick back and relax with friends.
While Jacksonville Beach has so much to offer during the daylight hours, there are truly good times to be had in the night life. The awesome thing about most of these places is that their hours of operation begin earlier in the day. This is perfect news for people who like to turn in early, as they still have the opportunity to experience the delicious cuisine served up at these establishments. So, whether you are a lover of the light, or a night owl, there is something offered for everyone.
